Business Products for Pet Sitters FAQ
Q. I need one of your pet sitting contracts right now! How soon will I get the contract once I place my order?
A. Immediately! Within less than a minute after ordering your business products you will receive an email from us with a link to download the product you order. Just click on that link and you’ll be able to access the file that will show up on your computer screen. It’s that simple!
Please note that if you have your account on PayPal linked to your checking account there is a 4-5 day waiting period to make sure the check clears before the order is processed. You will receive an email from us letting you know if this is the case and you will receive the products the moment your check clears.
Q. Which email address will I receive the download link on?
A. Whatever email address you have listed with PayPal is the email address that you will receive the download link in order to access the product(s) that you ordered. Check that email address once you have purchased products and your download link will be waiting for you to click on it to access the product you ordered!
Q. What format are your Business Products for Pet Sitters™ in?
A. Every product that you order is sent to you in both MS Word document format (so you can customize each product you purchase for your own business use) and PDF format for easy viewing and reading. We’ve included both MS Word for Mac and MS Word for PC so that all computers can simply and easily download and change any of the forms, contracts, or business kits that you purchased.
The exception to the formats above are the teleclass / workshop recordings which are sent to you in mp3 format. If you’ve never opened an mp3 file before, no problem! Your computer will prompt you on how to best listen to the recording. Upon purchasing any of the teleclass / workshop recordings you will be able to immediately listen to the recording through your computer. You can burn the recording(s) onto a CD and listen and learn while driving to a pet sitting job!
Q. I’m afraid to order online. Is my information safe?
A. It’s completely safe! You’ll be paying through PayPal which is a guaranteed secure payment site. Once you click the ‘Order Now’ button you will be directed to the PayPal site where your information is secure. If you have not yet signed up for a PayPal account you can sign up immediately and then purchase one of our products. It’s easy, safe and 100% secure.
Q. Can I change ALL of your forms to suit my own business needs?
A. Yes! Every single one of them! These forms were created with YOU in mind. Though all of the business forms and pet sitting contracts are complete as-is, you are welcome (and encouraged!) to customize any of these forms and contracts to suit your own business needs. Each business is different. We invite you to make changes as you need to. Many of the pet sitters who purchased our products years ago have changed them on a yearly or every-other-year basis as their business needs have changed.

Q. How long have you been coaching pet sitters and dog walkers?
A. I’ve been coaching pet sitters and dog walkers from all over the United States and Canada since 2000.
Q. What specific areas of the pet sitting business do you coach pet sitters?
A. Pretty much anything related to pet sitting including: (but not limited to!) how to create a successful six-figure pet sitting business, steps to hiring great staff members, training staff members, what kind of services to offer and how much to price services, low-cost yet highly effective marketing, time-management to create a peaceful life, easy and effective cures for pet sitters suffering from burnout, cash flow issues: how to create more cash flowing in than is flowing out, working as a partnership within the pet sitting business, preparing the pet sitting business for sale, setting up your business to expand to multiple cities or states.
I also deal with the human conditions around running a business: support if a crisis occurs within the business, communication and relational issues between owner, staff and clients, fears around hiring, expanding, isolation issues that may arise out of being self-employed and not working face-to-face with people, how to expand gracefully and the feelings that may come up around having more time and making more money (yes, creating a successful business often requires working through fears around being rich and having space in the day that’s not filled) and more.
Q. How long would you recommend I that I coach with you?
A. It really depends what your specific issue is.
If you are just starting your pet sitting business I’d recommend you coach with me for a minimum of a month to a maximum of three months so I can help you create a foundation for your business that will be strong, solid and set up correctly from the very beginning. If you are hiring people for the first time or have hired staff in the past that haven’t worked out well then I’d recommend working with me for at least a month so I can teach you step-by-step my fool-proof method for hiring the perfect staff members for your business. If you simply have questions about whether starting a pet sitting business would be a good idea for you or if you have a couple of specific minor issues within your business that need to be resolved then usually a 30 or 45-minute session will get you the information and help that you need.
Some coaching clients who have worked with me in the past will call me periodically to set up individual sessions as their questions arise. Still others work with me weekly or twice a month to keep their goals and their businesses on track.
It really is up to you. Having coached many pet sitters for so many years now I can usually tell you exactly how long we’ll need to work together to get you the results you want.
Q. I’ve signed up for monthly sessions with you. What’s your cancellation policy if I need to cancel?
A. I require 72 hours notice or more in order to reschedule your session or refund your payment in full. My coaching schedule is a busy one and every day pet sitters with business and life concerns call for last minute assistance. Late cancellations or missed appointments don’t allow me to help someone in need.
Q. Do your monthly sessions include email support throughout the month?
A. Due to my commitment to having plenty of time in my life (which I will teach you through our work together!) I only work with coaching clients through phone coaching sessions that are pre-arranged. I’m not available for email support for questions that may come up outside of our sessions. Q. I want to get my pet sitting website at the top of Google and other search engines. I see you offer Search Engine Optimization coaching. Can you tell me a little bit about how that works?
A. Sure. I’m sold on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) because within 2 months of optimizing my own website a few years ago my business went through the roof (in a good way!) The phone started ringing and hasn’t stopped since I did the SEO work. If you have a website, having your site optimized for the search engines is the single most effective form of advertising that you can do for you business.
Here is how it works: you call or email me to set up a Search Engine Optimization coaching session and in just one 45-minute session I will give you step-by-step instruction on what words need to be on your site and where as well as some other key elements that are guaranteed to get you high on Google and other search engines. You then give that information to your web person and then wait 3-6 weeks from the date that the changes are done on your site. After 3-6 weeks of making the changes simply enter the keywords we spoke about in Google and watch your website show up on the first page of Google! (Although most pet sitters report they are in slots 1, 2, or 3 after our SEO work together!)
